Overview

Magnitudle is a daily estimation game. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have when you use the game, create an account, view your history, or join a group.

Information We Collect

Based on the current app configuration, Magnitudle may collect and store:

• Anonymous session data used to let guests play without creating an account first.
• Account information managed through Supabase authentication, such as your email address.
• Profile details you choose to save, including display name, first name, last name, and city.
• Gameplay records such as your guesses, scores, streaks, game history, and season progress.
• Group data such as group names, join codes, and membership records when you create or join groups.
• Basic usage analytics events, including page views, question starts, completions, shares, and the page path where those actions occurred.
• Technical data needed to keep you signed in and keep the app working, including browser storage and cookies.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Magnitudle uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items to keep the app functional. Some are set directly by the app and some are set by services that support authentication and analytics.

Based on the current app behavior, this may include:

• Supabase authentication cookies used to maintain sign-in state.
• A short-lived `magnitude-guest-progress-transfer` cookie used when moving guest progress into a signed-in account.
• Local storage entries used to remember a guest session token and whether introductory onboarding has already been shown.
• Analytics-related storage used by Vercel Analytics, when applicable in your browser.

We use these technologies to keep users signed in, preserve guest progress between visits, safely transfer progress during login or sign-up, and understand app usage to improve reliability and gameplay.

How We Use Information

Magnitudle uses this information to:

• Run the daily game and save your progress.
• Restore guest sessions and transfer guest progress when you move into a logged-in account.
• Show your stats, streaks, history, and leaderboards.
• Let you manage your account profile and groups.
• Measure product usage and improve reliability and gameplay.
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

Services Used

The current site configuration uses third-party services to operate the product:

• Supabase for authentication, database storage, and server-side application functions.
• Vercel Analytics for usage analytics.

Those providers may process data on our behalf to deliver the features described in this policy.

Data Retention

Magnitudle keeps data for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the game, preserve player history, maintain groups and leaderboards, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Browser-side storage may remain until you clear it.

Your Choices

• You can play as a guest, although some account-only features may be unavailable.
• You can stop using the service at any time.
• You can clear local browser storage and cookies from your browser settings.
• You can edit profile fields stored in your account from the account page.

If you block or clear cookies and site storage, some parts of Magnitudle may stop working properly, including sign-in state, guest progress, and saved preferences.

Children

Magnitudle is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the product changes. When that happens, the effective date on this page should be updated as well.
